Isabella McGarry - Director
Born and educated in Austria, Isabella began her Graphic Design career 14 years ago in New York. A graduate from Parsons School of Design, she has been employed in various long term positions and free-lance contracts in the fast paced and characterful design industry of New York. for clients such as Coca-Cola, Calvin Klein, The Limited, and Estée Lauder. She was later employed as an art director by MTA New York City Transit, designing campaigns and marketing material which was viewed by the 6 million people every day. In September 1999, Isabella moved to Dublin, Ireland where she built up and managed an in-house design studio for a large print company. In 2003, Isabella became one of the founding partners of her own design firm Legato Design Ltd. Her international experience gives her a unique creative edge combined with a thorough knowledge of the production and print process.
Louise Hanafin - Director
Louise pursued her passion for creativity by studying Fine Arts at DIT
College of Art and Design and received her BA Degree in 1999 with a major
in Illustration and Graphic Design. Louise built up a wealth of experience
very quickly, with a special interest in Illustration and Packaging Design.
She was the key designer in a large re-branding contract, designing all
packaging and promotional material for a leading Chocolate Manufacturer
in Ireland. Louise’s designs were featured on chocolate boxes for major
international airlines such as British Airways, Aer Lingus, and Emirate
Airlines. In 2001, Louise created several award winning designs as a Senior
Designer for Ireland’s premier manufacturer of giftware. In 2003, she teamed
up with Isabella and Mark to found Legato Design Ltd, which has provided
her with further challenges in the design business that she was looking
for.
Kara Hasson - Designer
Kara graduated from the University of Ulster with a BA Hons. Degree in
Graphic, Product and Interactive Design. She relocated to Dublin in April
2004 to further her career within the design Industry. Kara has previously
held the positions of project administrator/designer and studio manager.
Having worked in busy studios, Kara has a true passion and appreciation
for design with extensive experience in logo design, typesetting, page
layout & Illustration, gained from 5 years studying design. She co-ordinates
and manages a range of projects as part of the Legato creative team. Kara's
key skills are design, brainstorming and generating Ideas, project co-ordination
and management.
Piera McVeigh - Designer
Piera studied Visual Communication at the National College of Art and Design,
Dublin where she received her degree (Hons.) with Modules in History of
Art and Design. She spent a semester at the University of Duisburg-Essen
in Germany, where she studied advertising and photography under the tutelage
of Prof T. Rempen, and is fluent in German with good French. Piera's main
expertise lie in corporate identity and information literature with a keen
eye for photography.
John Clarke - Consultant
John holds a certificate from the British Federation of Master Printers
and is a qualified print estimator. One of his most challenging projects
during his career was the production of a calendar for the World Health
Organization MCH Division, Geneva, which included photography in different
locations around the world, design, print and distribution to 176 countries.
He was also a member of the Government Steering Committee for Direct Marketing,
travelling to Brussels on several occasions representing his country. John
also acted as an agent for the Government at a forum in Luxemburg over
a six month period, debating the future of advertising in the electronic
age.
